After several years in the limelight as one of Hollywood's favorite couples, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have publicly confirmed their separation. Through a heartfelt Instagram post, the pair addressed their fans and the numerous speculations surrounding their divorce.
Their shared statement read, "Following four cherished years of matrimony, we've made the joint decision to peacefully conclude our marital journey. While many stories speculate about the reasons, we assure everyone that this decision is a collective one. Our deepest request is for respect for our privacy, especially for our children's sake."
Earlier in the week, Joe Jonas, now 34, took legal steps towards the dissolution of their marriage. Filed in Miami on September 5, the documents which were accessed by People stated that the marital bond is "irretrievably broken." The documents also shed light on a prenuptial agreement in place.
The love story of Joe and Sophie, currently 27, had caught the media's attention from its beginning. They started dating in 2016 and exchanged vows in 2019. The couple has been blessed with two children – their 3-year-old daughter, Willa, and another daughter aged 14 months, referred to as 'D' in the divorce papers.
