Guess who's turning 65 on August 16? It's the amazing Queen of Pop, Madonna!
This year hasn't been all rainbows and unicorns for Madonna. First, people on the internet were mean and criticized her appearance at the Grammy Awards in February. Then, she got really sick with a bad bacterial infection and had to go to the hospital. Because of that, she had to reschedule her big Celebration tour in North America. But don't worry, she's back on track and rehearsing for her new kickoff date in London this October.
But it's not all bad news! Madonna had some awesome moments too. She celebrated the 40th anniversary of her first album, and she even released two new songs called "Vulgar" with Sam Smith and "Popular" with The Weeknd. Beyoncé, the queen herself, gave Madonna a shout-out during her Renaissance tour in New Jersey. She said, "Big shout-out to the Queen! Queen Mother, Madonna, we love you!"
Even though Madonna was sick, she felt so much love from her fans all around the world. She wrote a message to them saying how grateful she was for their care and support.
Madonna is always amazed at how much her music means to her fans. She once said, "When I started my career, I didn't think about helping people. But now, I hear stories from fans who say my music saved their lives, kept their marriages together, or helped them through tough times. It means the world to me."
Right now, Madonna seems to be in Portugal, where she celebrated her son Rocco's 23rd birthday. And guess what? She'll probably celebrate her own birthday there too on Wednesday. Happy birthday, Queen Madonna!
