Haunted Escape Room - 6th Annual JNC Halloween Spooktacular!

The Jams 'N' Cocktails crew returned for their 6th Annual Halloween Spooktacular, and to say it was a scream would be an understatement. This year’s fright-filled extravaganza had everything a Halloween fan could hope for: haunted escape rooms, jelly bean roulette, terrifyingly tasty drinks, and a whole lot of belly laughs. Hosted by the ever-charismatic Brad Brock, the night was packed with memorable moments, chaotic costumes, and just the right amount of spooky flair.

As the show kicked off, Brad—dressed as the "Handsome Devil" (a self-proclaimed title)—introduced the full cast of characters, including the usual suspects like Jordyn, Elly, Steve the Bruce, and a full house of ghoulishly great guests. From crazy cat ladies to black cats and Woody & Jessie from Toy Story, the costume game was strong. But this year’s Spooktacular wasn’t just about looking the part. Brad surprised the crew with a custom-built Haunted Escape Room, turning the evening into an interactive, puzzle-solving thrill ride.

The escape room, staged as a twisted Victorian parlor, challenged teams to solve creepy clues and riddles to earn their freedom. With cryptic messages, glowing candles, eerie sound effects, and a mirror that held more than just reflections, the tension was real. Whether it was Kevin’s sudden puzzle mastery or Steve the Bruce’s hilarious solo attempt (including breaking a mirror), the haunted room delivered drama, suspense, and plenty of laughs.

But what’s a Spooktacular without some trick-or-treating? Enter the Bean Boozled Challenge. The crew passed around mysterious jelly beans with flavors ranging from birthday cake to dog food to—gulp—rotten egg. No sniffing, no swapping, just pure jelly bean roulette. The reactions? Priceless. Kevin’s deadpan “grave mouth” immunity had everyone in stitches, while others weren't so lucky.

One of the fan-favorite segments returned in full spooky form: Four-Word Horror Stories. With nothing but a flashlight and their most sinister delivery, each guest shared short, spine-chilling tales. Highlights included classics like "The keg ran dry" and newcomers like "Brad's hemorrhoid popped out" (horrifying in its own right).

The night continued with tarot card readings from Elly, the show’s resident witchy queen and keg sponsor. Each guest received a three-card reading, filled with eerily accurate insights, deep reflections, and a few gasps. Even Brad himself got a reading that nudged him to let go and trust the ride.

As if the escape room, jelly beans, and tarot weren’t enough, the crew wrapped things up in classic JNC fashion—with beer funnels in the Baratory. What began as a chug fest ended in towel-drenched chaos, as spilled beer and uncoordinated funnels turned the set into a sudsy mess. It was the kind of beautiful disaster that only Jams 'N' Cocktails could pull off with such style.
