2024 GRAMMY Nominations Unveiled: New Categories and Voting Updates Announced

The 2024 GRAMMYs will air live on Sunday, Feb. 4, on CBS and Paramount+.

COURTESY OF THE RECORDING ACADEMY

Anticipation meets exhilaration as the Recording Academy rolls out the red carpet for the nominations of the 66th GRAMMY Awards. Scheduled to light up the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the 2024 GRAMMYs promise a night of glamour, accolades, and historic musical milestones, airing live on February 4.

In an unprecedented move, the 2024 GRAMMYs will introduce three enthralling new categories to the roster: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album, and Best Pop Dance Recording. These additions herald a significant evolution in the GRAMMYs' legacy, embracing a diverse spectrum of global sounds and styles.

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. reflects on the changes as a stride toward a "more fair, transparent, and accurate" award process, mirroring the dynamic and ever-progressing world of music.

Submissions and screenings have already set the stage for the nominations, with the Academy's esteemed voting members dedicating their expertise to the task. These members, deeply rooted in the creative and technical realms of the industry, hold the privilege of sculpting the final nominee and winner lists through a rigorous voting journey that commenced last July and will culminate just a month before the awards ceremony.

With the final round of votes casting the decisive verdict, the anticipation builds. Who will seize the spotlight and etch their names into the annals of GRAMMY history? Tune in for Music's Biggest Night on February 4, where talent shines, legends are born, and the heart of the music industry beats the loudest.
